Care For Your Tattoo The life of your tattoo is dependant upon the care it receives in the first few days. |
|
|
|
First, keep the tattoo covered with the bandage for at least 2 hours. | |
|
|
After this time, remove the bandage. | |
|
|
If the gauze sticks to the skin, proceed to wet down the area with cool water, then remove the gauze carefully. | |
|
|
Once the tattoo is exposed, wash thouroughly with soap and water. | |
|
|
Be sure to remove all surface blood and rinse off all remaining soap. | |
|
|
DO NOT RE-BANDAGE TATTOO | |
|
|
DO NOT APPLY VASELINE OR ANY PETROLEUM JELLY | |
|
|
DO NOT APPLY ALCOHOL | |
|
|
DO NOT RUB OR SCRATCH THE TATTOO | |
|
|
With
clean hands, apply a light coat of Bacitracin or Neosporin ointment, a minimum
of three times a day. This ointment can be purchased here, or at any local drugstore. |

|
DO NOT LET THE TATTOO DRY OUT | |
|
|
If
a rash occurs, discontinue use. Alternatives are A and D ointment, or if
the rash persists, Dermassage hand lotion can be applied. |
|
|
|
The tattoo will develop a layer of dry skin: Let this fall off naturally. | |
|
|
DO NOT PICK THE TATTOO | |
|
|
DO NOT EXPOSE YOUR TATTOO TO SUNLIGHT FOR TWO WEEKS | |
|
|
DO NOT SWIM FOR ONE WEEK | |
|
|
DO NOT SOAK IN SAUNA, STEAM, OR BATH FOR ONE WEEK | |
|
|
After
the skin has fallen off, there will be a period of adjustment for the new
skin. It is advisable to apply a hand lotion such as Curel. |

|
|
DO NOT USE ANY PRODUCTS CONTAINING ALOE VERA OR VITAMINE | |
|
|
The tattoo is your responibility after you leave the studio. | |
